I love watching hair videos on YouTube.  I’m afraid to even think about how many hours I’ve spent doing so.  One thing I’ve noticed that natural hair gurus say over and over is how important it is to deep condition your hair.  After treating my scalp psoriasis recently left my hair damaged and broken, I figured it was time to take some YouTube advice.  I picked up the Joico K-Pak Intense Hydrator conditioner in hopes that it would bring my hair back to it’s former glory.

My Hair Needed Protein & Moisture

I heard about the Joico K-pak conditioner line before.  I knew it would give my hair a much needed protein boost.  For that I usually reach for my go-to, which is Aphogee’s 2 Minute Reconstructor.  You can watch a demonstration on how I use it here.

Thing is, my hair wasn’t only lacking protein, it was feeling dry and needed moisture too.  That’s when I started searching for something that would give my hair protein AND moisture; a 2 for 1.  I believe Joico K-pak Intense Hydrator is that product.  The whole K-pak line is all about strengthening damaged hair.  However the Intense Hydrator conditioner also touts that it will give the hair, “immediate hydration“.  I was pretty desperate to try it because my hair needed to be delivert!

Trying Joico K-pak Intense Hydrator Conditioner

I found the Joico product line at my local Ulta.  Yes, it was pricey.  No, I did not want to spend the money.  I love my drugstore hair products but my hair was in danger girl!  So I dug deep and bought the conditioner for about $20. OUCH!

I know I started out saying that I would deep condition with it but, I initially tried it as a rinse-out conditioner in the shower.  I noticed results after the first use!  This was back when I was straightening my hair a few times around the holidays.  My hair felt moisturized and didn’t have as many fly aways.

I decided to also try the conditioner with heat so that it could penetrate my hair strands.  In my heart of hearts I knew that was what my hair truly needed.  My hair felt soft and moisturized after using both methods!  It also seemed to be stronger while I detangled and styled my hair.

Final Thoughts

Overall, I enjoy using this conditioner.  The product is very rich and creamy in texture.  It also has a pleasant scent that is not overbearing.  I’m mostly surprised how it made my hair feel when using it without heat.  The real bonus is that it has a lot of slip so I can use it to detangle my curls too.  Let’s just say that after using the conditioner and watching my hair bounce back made it well worth the money honey!  I plan on keeping this one in my stash for a while.

The recommendation for the Joico K-pak conditioner came from none other than the GlamTwinz334 on YouTube.  Even on their worst day, they still have long, flowing hair so I figured it was worth a try.  I’m really happy that I decided to take that youtube advice!
